Courtyard and Garage

Earlier this week this was the scene outside my studio.  Pretty first snow but we are not done with construction yet so not welcome.  However today it was in the high 60's and very lovely so I'm good with that!

The courtyard was graded and crushed stone was brought in.  It looks plain right now but I have big plans for it in the future.  The stone needs a good wash down and then when it dries it will look much lighter.

The roof rafters for the garage assembled and ready to go up

The last roof support goes up.  Now I can get a sense of the loft size overhead and I like it!

A few more finishing touches on the kitchen and pantry.  These open shelves were made from some scraps out in the pile which I stained dark walnut and polyurethaned.  The cast iron brackets were found on Etsy.

The quartz counters get installed next week...can't wait!

  1. Hi. Your house is looking amazing! I would really like to build a 1200 sq ft. t-house summer 2021. I was hoping that I could get it done in one summer with just myself and my son building it (he's 15). After you have experienced this, do you think that this could be accomplished? Or am I being too hopeful?
