Some More Progress
More progress on the kitchen and pantry. All cabinets are now in and the countertop that I stained weeks ago has been installed along with setting the pantry sink.
Laundry Room Wall Cabinets
Another view of the big kitchen island. Plywood serving as a temporary countertop for right now. This is going to be my dream island..I know some folks dream of tropical islands but this is my dream! There is so much storage and the countertop will be so great for entertaining if we can ever get back to those days again.
And so exciting! The appliances were delivered! The refrigerator is still backordered but we were lucky to get all the others. Washing machines and refrigerators are backordered nationwide due to the pandemic along with pressure treated lumber which is very difficult to get right now.
And other miracles to report. Comcast finally made it to the house and brought the internet from the pole to house. Now we have to wait two weeks for someone to come back and actually bring it inside the house.
The stairwell is being worked on. I will be very relieved when that gaping hole has a railing. I am used to it now but it is a huge hazard.
These are cast iron pipes and fittings that I have been cleaning and spray painting so they can be made into railings. My hands are still black from the messy work.
And last but not least, I have begun painting the basement studio floor. The clean-up and prep took a while due to all the dust down there. Lots of vacuuming and mopping involved. This is just one coat of special concrete paint from Sherwin Williams. I have to order more paint as it is a specialty and they don't stock too much. I actually went with a color called "Underseas". First color I have put in my white and gray house!
